What we're looking for

TSUNAGU Project is seeking a talented individual who possesses infinite curiosity. You'll work on-site at our cafes, or at our central kitchen alongside our great team of kitchen staff creating Japanese pastries and other baked goods. This is your opportunity to make a 'delicious impact' to our friendly neighbourhood.

Ideal skills

  • 2+ years experience as a pastry chef
  • Attention to detail
  • Appreciation of flavour and cooking techniques
  • Willingness to learn new skills and ideas
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Understanding of Japanese flavours
  • Organised and punctual

What's involved

  • Wages and Salary will depend on each individual Part time employment | hourly rate starting from Level 1 Restaurant Industry Award (MA000119) with skills bonus as you progress Full time employment (38hrs) | starting from $58,000 per annum
  • Weekend penalty rates and annual loading on top aligning with all industry award rates

Responsibilities

  • Learning recipe and baking pastries
  • Cleaning baking and general utensils used in kitchens
  • Maintaining the quality of pastries
  • Creating new ideas for pastry menu
  • Transferring, organising and checking stock
  • Clean down of all food preparation area at the end of the day
  • Taking out rubbish and monitoring supplies
