    • Commis Chef (Part-time/Full-time)
    • Front of House (Part-time)
    • Kitchen/Prep hand (Part-time)

    About the role

    ATSU is located above Hareruya Pantry Carlton, offering Katsudon and Kushi Katsu, perfectly paired with our vast range of highballs in our warm & welcoming space.

    We’re a small, passionate team dedicated to quality, creativity, and warm hospitality. The atmosphere is relaxed yet professional β€” a great place to grow, learn, and work alongside experienced hospitality talent.

    Ideal skills and requirements

    • 2+ years experience in a kitchen environment (kitchen positions)
    • 1+ years experience as a front of house staff
    • Attention to detail
    • Appreciation of Japanese flavour and cooking techniques
    • Willingness to learn new skills and ideas
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Organised and punctual
    • Willingness to work for more than 12 months

    What's involved

    • Wages and Salary will depend on each individual Part time employment | starting from Level 1 Restaurant Industry Award (MA000119) with skills bonus as you progress
    • Part-time and full-time positions available

    Responsibilities

    Commis Chef

    • Assist in the preparation and execution of dishes to a high standard
    • Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and hygiene across all kitchen sections
    • Follow food safety procedures and kitchen protocols
    • Support senior chefs during busy service periods
    • Take direction with a willingness to learn and improve

    Kitchen hand

    • Washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment
    • Assisting chefs with basic prep tasks (e.g. peeling, chopping, portioning)
    • Maintaining cleanliness in all kitchen and storage areas
    • Handling deliveries and stock organisation
    • Following food safety and hygiene procedures at all times

    Front of house

    • Provide warm, attentive and polished service throughout the guest experience
    • Confidently explain menu items and offer thoughtful recommendations
    • Maintain an efficient, composed presence during service
    • Coordinate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth communication and timing
    • Handle seating, bookings, and POS with professionalism
    • Uphold cleanliness, presentation, and overall atmosphere of the dining space
