What we're looking for
TSUNAGU Project is looking for a talented Chef with bread baking experience to join our team. We're seeking someone who is passionate about great food, curious, and enjoys working in a collaborative kitchen.
As a café that bakes all of our bread in-house, bread baking is an important part of this role. Your primary focus will be kitchen service and food preparation, while also taking responsibility for baking our fresh bread for daily service.
You'll work closely with our team to support the day-to-day kitchen operations in a welcoming neighbourhood café. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a delicious impact and be part of a friendly, community-focused team.
Ideal skills
- 2+ years experience in a kitchen environment
- Bread baking experience (essential)
- Attention to detail
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong teamwork and time management skills
- Willingness to learn new skills and ideas
- Excellent communication skills
- Comfortable taking on a wide range of kitchen tasksâfrom baking and food prep to sandwich making and service.
- Willingness to work for more than 6 months

- Wages and Salary will depend on each individual Part time employment | starting from Level 1 Restaurant Industry Award (MA000119) with skills bonus as you progress

Responsibilities
- Bake our fresh bread in-house each day, ensuring quality and consistency.
- Prepare and cook menu items for breakfast and lunch service.
- Complete daily food preparation, including baking, ingredient prep, sauces, fillings, and mise en place.
- Help keep the kitchen organised, clean, and running smoothly throughout the day.
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness.
- Keep an eye on stock levels and let the team know when ingredients need replenishing.
- Work closely with the team to deliver a great experience for our customers.
- Assist with opening and closing kitchen duties.
- Bring a positive attitude, take pride in your work, and contribute to our friendly team culture.
